Prof. Vahid Garousi

Vahid Garousi is a Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast, UK, with extensive international experience. He has held positions as an Associate Professor at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, Hacettepe University in Turkey, and the University of Calgary in Canada. Dr. Garousi earned his PhD in Software Engineering from Carleton University, Canada, in 2006. His research focuses on software engineering, testing, empirical studies, action-research, and industry-academia collaborations. A 2018 study ranked him as the 8th most-active software engineering researcher globally. He has published over 120 papers in prestigious venues and was an IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Speaker from 2012 to 2015. Dr. Garousi is a member of IEEE and a licensed professional engineer in Alberta. Alongside his academic career, he is a consultant in software testing and quality assurance and has led numerous R&D projects with companies in various countries. He received the Alberta Ingenuity New Faculty Award in 2007.
